Newbie Here

Post by Lindyloos258 » Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:28 pm

Hi, I'm due to pick up my new HR-V in Midnight Blue Beam Metallic. Its an EX version. Good and bad points?

Have owned a Civic and Jazz in the past.

Welcome. :) Diesel or petrol? If petrol, auto or manual gearbox?

Recent HR-Vs are built in Japan so should be free of the bugs which afflicted the Mexican-assembled HR-Vs and which probably lost Honda some sales.

One good point whatever the engine and transmission is a load of internal space. Bad points include the infotainment system which seems a bit stone age and the touch controls for the heating and ventilation.

Hi
No problems so far with our '67 SE auto (Had the car 4 months)

Stayed with Honda after 5 civics and 1 jazz as they all did well for us.

Thanks. That's the same as mine which I've found provides a good balance between performance and economy but I'm quite gentle with the right foot. Some people don't get on with the CVT gearbox but I've been very happy. If you need a burst of power then a tug or two on the left paddle and a hard push on the right pedal is effectively changing down a couple of gears (the car will drop the revs once right pedal pressure is eased). S mode on the gear shift makes the engine more responsive by keeping the revs higher but, as I found out one day when I unintentionally put the shift into S mode, this comes with a significant reduction in economy (about 15% on that particular journey).
