High Beam Assist and Bulb Life

Post by Hadleys Taxi » Sat Jun 06, 2020 1:02 pm

Afternoon All,

I was able to see HBA in action last night for the first time since purchasing the vehicle. On this very limited outing it appeared to operate as intended and probably better than I could! Due to the amount of busy unlit rural roads around me I think this will not only be a very useful feature, but one that will get a lot of use, especially during the shorter winter 'days'.

And it was this that got me thinking;

Will the constant flicking off and on shorten the life of the headlight bulb?

And would an LED bulb cope better than a halogen one?

Many thanks.

Regards,

The High Beam on all my previous cars has constantly been turned on/off and been used for flashing. I doubt it matters which way it's activated. I've only ever had headlight bulb go and they are either on, or off
