Recall by Honda

Post by andy019k » Wed Feb 12, 2020 12:15 pm

Good morning,

Just got a letter asking to recall my HRV SE Navi (2016). This is apparently an ongoing issue with exhaust emissions and they have to be checked to ensure they meet European standards. The whole issue with VW Springs to mind!!!!

On checking the DVLA recall website it shows that a recall is outstanding.

Am trying to get hold of my local dealership to get it booked in.

Hi Andy, Do let us know what the update exactly does. Do you have a petrol or Diesel version.
Checking on the DVLA website mine is also due a re call. I'm hesitant to get anything done just yet in case it messes something else up

DVLA says there are no "Safety Recalls" for my HR-V.

I found a spreadsheet at https://www.check-vehicle-recalls.service.gov.uk/recall-type which lists recalls for all vehicles. There appear to be two groups of recalls for the HR-V:
(i) A recall dated 02/10/2018 which states "During vehicle assembly the cabin harness was pulled to make the process easier to manage. By pulling the harness a clip was broken or dislodged resulting in the harness not being correctly secured in the front left chassis rail / suspension turret area. In around 10% of affected units the harness makes contact with the transmission mount. The vibration of the transmission can cause the harness to be damaged. If the conductors are exposed this can result in a short circuit and blown fuse. Customer complaints are that the engine does not start and/or the wiper does not work. The engine does not start and/or the windscreen wipers do not work."; This applies to VIN 3HGRU1***GM300001 to 3HGRU1***GM420679, 3HGRU1***HM300001 to 3HGRU1***HM418150 and 3HGRU1***JM300151 to 3HGRU1***JM414225 produced between 29/09/2014 and 19/04/2018.
(ii) A recall dated 31/01/2020 which states "The regulatory requirement for emissions levels are not met." This applies to VIN 3HGRU8**0GM300020 to 3HGRU8**0JM402790 produced between 02/02/2015 and 23/05/2018.

The first recall applies to 3HGRU1...... and the second to 3HGRU8....... . My petrol HR-V is 3HGRU1 (and sits in the range for the first recall so I should check if it has been done when in for a service - I was never notified). I deduce that 3HGRU8 indicates diesel HR-Vs. Am I correct?
My HR-V: 2016 HR-V 1.5 SE i-VTEC CVT Previously Mk 3 Jazz SE i-VTEC CVT
