Off the top of my head pricing is now approximately £5k more expensive for base trim and £4k more expensive than the previous top of the range EX.

Obviously this is not a direct comparison as it does not take into account the increase in equipment levels, nor the electric motors and accompanying battery technology.

In the case of the base model there is no valid comparison, base model in 2nd Gen was SE but 3rd gen it is Elegance (SR) so price needs to be compared to 2nd gen SR.

Base model of the 2nd gen HR-V was the S: S, SE (SE NAV) and EX.

The price comparison I made is still relevant as the the MkIII Elegance is the base spec HR-V as Honda are currently not selling a spec below it. Base spec refers to the basic model in that range which is currently the Elegance, so if you wish to buy the 'basic' trim in the range, you have to purchase the Elegance.

OK, I agree about base model, but if you are comparing price then it should be 2nd gen SR against 3rd gen Elegance.
