ALL-NEW HR-V TO JOIN HONDA'S ELECTRIFIED LINE-UP IN 2021

Post by Rob » Tue Jan 19, 2021 9:27 am

Honda will unveil the latest generation of its popular HR-V in February this year. The small SUV will feature the company’s advanced two-motor e:HEV powertrain technology as standard for the first time. Honda’s innovative hybrid set-up combines high efficiency with refined, fun-to-drive performance.

The all-new HR-V exemplifies Honda's commitment to achieving its ‘Electric Vision’ strategy that will see all of its European mainstream models electrified by 2022. The HR-V is the latest model in Honda's line-up to wear the e:HEV powertrain badging, joining the CR-V and all new Jazz which was launched in Europe last year.

The new HR-V e:HEV will be unveiled on 18 February 2021.

I'll be more interested in its ability for real world use, like towing a caravan (but then again I'm biased  ) but there are so few "electric" cars that can tow and its a huge section of the market that is being ignored by the motor trade, so be it a small trailer or a huge twin axle unit there should be options available!

I would hope that the HR-V will offer some useful features that the Crosstar (which, I was told, was selling better than Honda expected) lacks. I noticed a glass roof being mentioned in the info leaked so far but the two most useful features would be providing towing capability and some rear wheel traction by building small motors into the rear hubs. Not everyone wants the even larger CR-V. Or will the new HR-V be a Crosstar with a glass roof and bigger boot?

The new third-generation Honda HR-V will be revealed in full on 18 February, and Honda has given us a glimpse inside the cabin of its new compact SUV for the first time.

Hmmm, there are some aspects I like the look of and some not, from the photos.
Likes: Interior, especially the new HVAC controls and touchscreen with extra functionality . Exterior tailgate and rear lights.
Dislikes: Styling at the front around the grille and there’s a huge expanse of ‘nothing’ under the headlights.
Rear door doesn’t look as sleek as the current model. Not keen on 18” wheels given the state of our roads.
I know looks aren’t everything and it’s a personal thing but I wouldn’t buy one myself. Who would buy a car that they don’t like the look of?

Had a long chat with Honda about the new HR-V, towing limit, if they get round to offering a tow option will be limited to 650KG (or less) which should just about cover a small garden trailer  and only being offered in automatic, manual drives are being stopped  and even the CR-V tow limit is next to useless.

............right where is that Teslar website..................
