Got my hrv yesterday, bolt hole there, handbook says there is a spare wheel fitted in boot well, no mention of inflation kit so I had to ring dealer to ask where it all was.

No spare wheel fitted no explanation why or why it was in the manual that it was , inflation kit in a compartment at side of boot area, not mentioned in handbook either, had to find out from dealer, it may be they intend to fit one soon but haven't got round to it.

Some European countries have to have a spare wheel as regulation, so that is why its included in the European Owners Manual, But UK there is no requirement to have a spare wheel.

See Pages 557 to 565 about using Tyre Repair Kit and its location in the car.

Bought my spare from Cox's shortly after getting the car September 2015. Out of curiosity I contacted Cox's last week to make sure that the spare they supplied me with is the same as the one that is used with the new clamp fitting. It is, the only difference is the tyre Honda use is a Kendo, the Cox one supplied to me is a Continental. No reason to suspect there might be a difference but wanted to check anyway.

Spare Wheel

Post by Howard » Thu Jul 13, 2017 1:44 pm

Hi, when I ordered the HRV I was informed that Honda do not do a spare wheel kit for this model and after checking with other Honda dealers this is the case!... how bizarre as the new Civic ( apart from the sport) has a spare wheel as standard.
So I now have a space saver wheel, jack & whee brace, all in a cover, slots straight into the hole & no rattles, well worth the £165 for piece of mind.
This obsession with emissions has gone to far. My previous car (Mazda) also didn't have a spare but Mazda supplied a complete kit as part of the deal.
Honda you need to get your act together.

Hi - did you have to purchase the spare AND the jack and brace? None of these items are supplied by Honda?
