Re: 2017 Tax changes

There is need for forward planning: I recently gave careful consideration to buying a Kia Niro because the long lead time meant I would need to order soon in order to be sure of delivery before 1st April. In the event I decided against the Niro and got an HR-V instead. Potential purchasers of new mo...

Re: 2017 Tax changes

A very useful reminder. However, I would point out that the switchover date from the current system is 1st April 2017, not 1st March. See https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vehicle-excise-duty/vehicle-excise-duty for the official notice. I presume the one month delay from the start of the 17...

Re: HR-V Petrol auto - do you find it underpowered?

One more thing- is it me or does everyone find that notice on the radio panel that you have to touch when you start up annoying? I will keep the HRV for six months and will go to the new Audi which offers much better fuel economy. I agree with you about this annoying OK button. The Mk 3 Jazz is the...

Re: HR-V Petrol auto - do you find it underpowered?

I've no complaints about the performance of my SE CVT. Just understand that the system is set up to keep to the slower, more efficient, part of the engine revs range and one can drive in a leisurely manner with the engine never getting to 3,000 rpm. However, last week I wanted to get past a lorry an...

Re: What is wrong with Honda?

I was told when I bought my HR-V a few weeks ago that the 2017 versions will be coming from Japan and they will have the socket for the retaining bolt in the spare wheel well. I don't know when the changeover takes place. It was also mentioned that numbers will continue to be constrained. Presumably...

Re: Snow trouble at all!

In your circumstances I would probably do something similar but I'm even less likely to encounter snow and ice than you. The Primacy 3 tyres may have some strengths but winter performance is not one of them http://www.rezulteo-tyres.co.uk/r-winter-tyres-advice/summer-tyres-versus-winter-tyres-michel...

Re: Snow trouble at all!

There is some discussion about mixing summer and winter tyres here http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=67522 and here http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=89945 (as two examples). The subject also reminds me of recent discussion at Clubjazz about whether it is better to put ...

Re: Snow trouble at all!

So is that winter tyres on the front but the normal tyres on the back? Does this create any risk of the back wheels skidding or will that be controlled by the ABS?

Re: Spare Wheel

Spacesaver ordered from Cox's yesterday and delivered today. I used the forum member discount to save a few pounds. They emailed me once I placed the order to check if I was aware that the vehicle had no fixing point for the spare (the 2017 HR-V rectifies this omission) and would therefore need to m...
