I might be imagining it but I think Honda added active noise cancelling to the current production as a way round this constraint.

Yes they did John. I'm not sure how effective it is as I have nothing to compare it with and I don't think you can disable it.

Re: Second Hand Expectations

I'm really not sure how much the cosmetic aspects are covered by the Honda Approved Used Vehicle scheme but putting those aside, I am fairly confident that any mechanical or electrical defects should be covered. The Front Seat Passenger Head Restraint locking mechanism being defective is in my opini...

Re: Override automatic handbrake?

It also applies when the vehicle stops with the automatic brake hold system activated (mine always is) and the driver’s seat belt is unlatched. When I reverse into my drive I put the car in park, get out and close my gates, get back in and without my seat belt on, I manually release the brake and re...

Re: USB Ports Not Charging Accessories

USB ports may offer trickle charging, full charging or no charging at all. I'm not sure what the ones in the HR-V do but I'm pretty sure that they charge. Most cables will transmit data and charge devices however there are cables on the market that will only do one or the other. Data only cables tot...

I believe that the unlock code is stored in the ECU.
And that is why the Anti Theft System message is coming up. There is a chance that it was indeed stolen. Do you have proof that it is a genuine sale?

Re: Sensitive sensors

In addition to what John has said, you also have moved tyres with more tread on to the front, which will increase the effective diameter on the front and reduce it on the rear.

Re: My new HR-V EX CVT - disappointing

Re the CVT gearbox, my comments were regarding when I am attempting to accelerate gently - I certainly do not expect to have the engine revving quite loudly before it changes up a gear....and no, I am not in S mode. As I mentioned initially, I have had 2 Qashqai's with CVT and know how it should op...

Re: My new HR-V EX CVT - disappointing

I use the speed limiter all of the time and have not experienced the behavior described in that article. However, you may be happy to let the vehicle comply with whatever speed limits it sees. If a driver wants to proceed with less caution then, as explained in the handlbook (IIRC), they have to pu...
